 October 2 is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, 

most commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi.


Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated in India as a National festival on 2nd October, every year. ... Mahatma Gandhi, who has given the title of “Father of the Nation” or “Rashtrapita”, is also called by the name “Bapu”. He was a great follower of peace (Satya) and non-violence (Ahimsa).


 Painting and essay competitions are conducted and best awards are granted for projects in schools and the community encouraging

Gandhiji was born on 2nd october 1869 at porbandar, Gujrat. he was freedom fighter, Great leader and advocate of Non - violence Policy in gaining a goal.

Under his leadership, india got freedom from the hand of the English on August 15th 1947.

Considering his Contribution to the nation, he is hailed as the 'FATHER OF INDIA' and his birth anniversary is celebrated every year as 'Gandhi Jayanti'   

Gandhi firmly believed in truth and non- violence. Not only Indians but foreigners also were inspired by his ideals.
